NATURE EXPLORATION (L.KG)
On August 20, 2024, a Nature Exploration activity was organized at St. Xavier’s Kindergarten for the students of L.KG. This event was designed to immerse young learners in the beauty of the natural world while introducing them to essential vocabulary and concepts related to nature.
The day began with a guided walk around the school garden, where the children were taught about various elements of nature, including trees, leaves, and flowers. They eagerly learned the names and colours of different trees and plants, expanding their vocabulary with words like "shade," "fruits," "vegetables," and more. The significance of trees was emphasized, highlighting how they provide shade, bear fruits and vegetables, and serve as homes for birds, while also playing a crucial role in purifying the air.
The exploration continued with an introduction to the world of birds. The children were shown pigeons and parrots, along with their nests, bringing them closer to understanding the habitats and behaviours of these feathered creatures. The teachers used this opportunity to instil a sense of wonder and respect for the natural world.
To conclude the day, the students were treated to a fun-filled session on the swings, where they laughed and played, enjoying the fresh air and the joy of being outdoors. The activity not only enriched their knowledge but also fostered a deep connection with nature, making it a memorable experience for the little explorers.
The event was a delightful blend of education and recreation, leaving the students with a newfound appreciation for the environment and the vocabulary to express it.
